Year 7 Foundation Curriculum
We are incredibly proud of the transition that we provide from primary to secondary school. We take great pride in the care taken with getting to know each individual student before they start as Sir William Stanier. Through primary visits, subject challenges and welcome videos we make sure each student is secondary ready and ready to thrive and succeed.
Our driving force is our year 7 foundation curriculum which aims to follow a primary curriculum continuity, to bridge the gap of key subject knowledge, whilst developing all aspects of an individual. Therefore, making sure students are ready to access our year 7 curriculum, along with developing and enhancing their character and personal development in line with our key school values.
We realise that starting secondary school can be a scary time, so our dedicated team of year 7 form tutors and support staff are key to our transition. Our tutors ensure each day that your child is given the support and confidence they need to build their aspirations, attainment and attitude to be best version of themselves. Our fantastic team offer endless activities, opportunities and challenges which we recognise and celebrate in all areas of school life each week.
